Geneva golf course

Club Info

Founded in 1900, the Geneva Golf Club (GGC) is the oldest nine-hole course in the state of Illinois.  GGC is a private club that is owned by and operated almost exclusively by its members.   We are a family-oriented club with many activities and events geared towards families and children. The facilities include the golf course, swimming pool, three tennis courts, two platform tennis courts, pickle ball courts, and golf simulators. Our clubhouse has a fully equipped commercial quality kitchen but we do not operate a restaurant.  The kitchen is for the use of our caterers for events and activities held at the club.  As a result of not operating a staffed dining facility, we avoid the need for monthly food minimums common at other private clubs.  Members of GGC can enjoy dining privileges at Dunham Woods Riding Club in Wayne and Union League Club in Chicago through a reciprocity agreements.

The golf course itself is very challenging with a slope of 139 from the regular tees (142 from the back tees) and there are multiple tee boxes to accommodate every level of play. Remaining true to its original plan, the course was designed for walking, but there are motorized carts available for a nominal fee. Pull carts are complimentary. There are locker facilities as well as club storage and shoe storage facilities.  Our heated pool was completely rebuilt in 2007 and is suited for competitive meets as well as family gatherings.  The paddle tennis courts were resurfaced in 2010 and two of our three tennis courts were resurfaced in fall of 2013.  The paddle house building and exterior were completely renovated in 2018.  Golf simulators were added in the winter of 2021.  The golf shop space was renovated in 2021 and a member lounge area was created.  Bunker Renovation was completed in the spring of 2021
